23rd Annual Greene County Partnership Golf Shoot Out
The Greene County Partnership’s 23rd Annual Golf Shoot-Out will be held Thursday, September 21, at Link Hills Country Club with C&C Millwright Maintenance Co., Inc., SumiRiko Tennessee and The Greeneville Sun as the title sponsors.
The shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. will follow lunch sponsored by Wal-Mart Transportation, and the Putting Contest sponsored by Rodefer Moss & CO, both of which will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Kristin Small with Cruise Planners is sponsoring a hole-in-one grand prize contest on number 16. Any player who makes a hole-in-one on 16 will win an all-inclusive 7-day stay for two at Sandals Emerald Bay Resort and Golf Club in Exuma, Bahamas.
There will also be a Longest, Most Accurate Drive Contest sponsored by Brookdale Greeneville, and Closest-to-the-Pin Contests on the remaining three par-three holes, sponsored by Delfasco, East Tennessee Iron & Metal and Marsh Propane.
The tournament will feature both scratch and handicap divisions. The format will be a Captain’s Tournament with four players per team (select shot).
The deadline for registration is September 18 and the tournament is limited to 124 players. Due to the popularity of the event, reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
The entry fee is $600 per team or $150 per individual. This includes lunch, greens fees, carts, complimentary beverages during play, and dinner for each golfer at the conclusion of the tournament. The dinner is open to guests of participants who do not wish to play in the tournament at a cost of $30 per person. Dinner reservations for non-golfers must be made by calling the Partnership by September 18.
The T. Elmer Cox Traveling Trophies will be presented to the winners in both divisions.
According to Partnership President/CEO Matt Garland, “Area business people and community leaders look forward to the Partnership’s annual tournament because it’s such a fun-filled event and provides a prime opportunity to market their businesses and meet other business people. The Partnership staff always strives to go the extra mile in making this tournament one of the outstanding fund-raising events in the area, so we encourage everyone to come out and show their support for the Partnership and its many endeavors while enjoying a great day of golf.”
Numerous door prizes will be given away following the dinner.
Beverages during play will be donated by Greeneville Oil & Petroleum.
