Capitol Theatre presents Bright Star, A New Musical
The Greeneville Theatre Guild is proud to present the first community theatre production of "Bright Star" in the region!! Written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, "Bright Star" is a new musical in every sense. It debuted on Broadway in 2016 and was nominated for 5 Tony Awards. Unfortunately for "Bright Star," that's also the year "Hamilton" hit Broadway and swept the Tony Awards.
"Bright Star" is a tale of hope and redemption, set against the backdrop of Appalachia in the 1920s and 1940s. It tells the stories of folks in a simpler time, but still human and subject to the trials and tribulations of life and love. The songs are the music of these mountains, and the characters talk of home and fiddle music and fireflies.
Join us at the Capitol Theatre as we weave a story that will touch your heart with music that will tap your toes!!
Opening June 14 and running for 2 weekends! Tickets are $15 for adults $12 for seniors (65+), students, and children.
The show is rated PG-13 for adult subject matter.
