National Travel and Tourism Week

The first full week of May has been recognized as National Travel and Tourism Week since 1984. In celebration of this observance, the Tourism Department typically visits area Welcome Centers to assist in welcoming visitors, as well as hosts the Presidential Pioneer in Hospitality Awards.  These awards, a total of five, are awarded to those who go above and beyond the call of duty to be hospitable to our guests.  Nominees can be from local lodging, restaurants, shops, and businesses. Click to download nomination form.
