Wreaths Across America Day
December 14th, 2019 marks the annual Wreaths Across America Day in which thousands of veterans, civic, religious, and other non-profit organizations join together in coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in honor of veterans, both past and present, at more than 1,600 locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad.
One of those locations is the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, Greeneville, TN., where on December 14th members of the Greene County Veterans Association, the Andrew Johnson Heritage Association, and staff from the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site will carry on the Wreaths Across America mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach. The public is invited to attend this free ceremony, which will begin at 11:30 am.
The goal of Wreaths Across America is to place a holiday wreath on every veteran’s grave in the cemetery, but that can’t happen without your assistance. Wreaths can only be obtained by donation. If you would like more information about sponsoring a wreath for the December 14 Wreaths Across America event, go to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.
