Andrew Johnson National Historic Site Celebrates National Parks Week
This month marks the annual observance of National Park Week, scheduled this year for April 20-28. Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, along with the 400 other National Park units, will participate with events throughout the week. The beginning of the week-long celebration, co-sponsored by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, will be Saturday, April 20th as National Junior Ranger Day. Starting on Sunday, April 21st, the Andrew Johnson NHS Visitor Center will host a lunch time movie series from 12 to 1 PM in the Visitor Center media room. Visitors will see segments from the landmark Ken Burns documentary, National Parks: America’s Best Idea, with showings each day through Sunday, April 28th. Guests are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and enjoy the film along with the park staff.

National Tourism Week
Greeneville, TN - The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership is looking for a “Few Good People” that give exemplary service to their customers. The Department will be conducting its annual “Presidential Pioneer in Hospitality Award” program during National Tourism Week May 4-12, a week-long observance of the role that tourism plays in our economy.
The Presidential Pioneer in Hospitality Award will recognize front-line service personnel who give their all to make the customers’ visits to their establishment enjoyable and memorable ones. Greeneville, TN - The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership is looking for a “Few Good People” that give exemplary service to their customers. GCP Tourism and Local Lodging Celebrate 6th Annual International Housekeepers Week
The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership along with area lodging facilities celebrated International Housekeepers Week, September 9-16 by having a friendly competition in eight different categories pertaining to housekeeping. Winners of the 6th Annual International Housekeepers Week awards are as follows: Jameson Inn – Pillow Display, Best Bed Display, Visitor Information Display, Amenity Display, Towel Display, Sheet Folding Presentation, Best Dressed Housekeeper better known as the Grime Busters. Comfort Inn was the winner of the Meeting Space Presentation category.

Gus Macker Preview Comes to Local Schools
On May 3 and 4, students and McDonald Elementary, the Greeneville/Greene County Boys & Girls Club, Nolachuckey Elementary and Greeneville Christian Academy were visited by the Gus Macker Road Show and the Sports Council of the Greene County Partnership. The students were able to meet Gus, play some 3-on-3 basketball and more importantly, to learn the importance of good sportsmanship.

Greeneville, TN to Host VW “Buggin for a Cure” Car Show
The Northeast Tennessee Volkswagen Association, the Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership and the Greene County Fair Association will host the first annual “Buggin’ for a Cure” all VW Car Show and Swap Meet to be held in Greeneville TN, at the Greene County Fairgrounds September 22, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and September 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
