The Greeneville Astros, an Appalachian League affiliate of the Houston Astros, play a 34-game home schedule at Pioneer Park, on the campus of Tusculum College, from June through August. Fans can see some of the top prospects drafted and signed by the Houston Astros getting their first experience in professional baseball. In addition, the Astros offer a family-oriented environment  providing entertainment to both adults and children through a wide variety of promotions. The Parks & Recreation Department offers numerous activities and sports for  youth as well as adults. Baseball, softball and basketball are offered for children  up to 16 years of age. Adult sports include softball and volleyball. Annual special  events conducted throughout the year include “Spring Fling,” “Home for the  Fourth,” a Halloween dance, a Thanksgiving essay contest, Christmas Coloring  Contest, and the “Christmas in the Park” drive-through light display.

The Greeneville-Greene County Sports Complex is located Hal Henard Road.  The more-than-half-a-million-dollar facility includes two-multi purpose fields, a pavilion with restrooms, a concession stand, and a covered area with five picnic tables.
The complex borders the Greene County Tennis Center.Scheduled to open this spring, the facility will feature two ball fields with concession areas and restrooms.

This is a public tennis center that includes six hard surface courts and two Har-Tru courts. The Greeneville Tennis Complex is jointly managed by the  Greeneville Public Works Department and the Greene County Tennis  Association, a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation. 

Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies' Classic Basketball Tournament

The Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies' Classic has been recognized by USA Today as one of the top high school girls’ basketball tournaments in the nation. Held the week after Christmas each year, the tournament attracts teams from across the nation for four days of intense competition.

Tiny Day/Red Edmonds Memorial Softball Tournament

The longest running girls' softball tournament in the state of Tennessee.  Traditionally held each April at local venues.
